Sigma Kappa Scholarship Opportunities Beginning January 1st

The  board of trustees of the Sigma Kappa Foundation is pleased to offer the 2011-2012  scholarships to benefit both collegiate and alumnae members of Sigma Kappa. These scholarships will be available for the fall 2011 term beginning January 1, 2011. All applications must be submitted no later than March 15, 2011 .

Before accessing the online application, students should prepare the following required information:
 

Official GPA on a 4.00 Scale

• Students should report their official cumulative GPA based on the most recently available academic period and should report the two digits beyond the decimal. No rounding is permitted . While no documentation is required at the time of application, verification of  GPA and enrollment will be requested from students who are selected to receive a scholarship. As loyalty is one of Sigma Kappa's values, students are expected  to be loyal to themselves and the Foundation by reporting accurate and truthful information. Any student found to have knowingly reported false information will be deemed ineligible.

Financial Aid Details

• Students who have applied for financial aid using the FAFSA form should have their Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) available. Additionally, all students are expected to complete a declaration of financial need that comprises expected educational costs and sources of income to pay expenses.

Student Essay

• Student essays must be submitted through the online application system, but can be prepared in a text-editing program such as Microsoft Word, and then cut and pasted into the application. Maximum length is 500 words.

Two Recommenders with E-Mail Addresses

• Recommendation letters are accepted only through the online application system. Using the e-mail addresses provided by the student for each recommender, the application system will generate a message to each recommender requesting that they click the link embedded in the message to answer a few questions and provide their comments to complete the process.

• For undergraduate applicants, one recommendation must come from either a chapter advisor, collegiate province officer (CPO), or collegiate district director (CDD).

Please note that recommendation letters are due within two weeks of the application submission, and it is the student's responsibility to follow-up to ensure their timely completion.

By answering a few initial questions, the system will pre-qualify students for their eligibility, and then they will  have the opportunity to complete the application in full.

Submit your application by 11:59 p.m.  EDT on Tuesday, March 15, 2011, through the online application system. No exceptions will be made.

Students should apply for all available scholarships in the online application system for which they meet the criteria.
